Arjun Tendulkar has been making a lot of headlines these days, all thanks to his impressive debut for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. Though, he has only played a few games in the ongoing season, but his performance has caught the attention of cricket fans all around the world.
Arjun Tendulkar Has Made An Impressive Start To His IPL Career

In the first match of his career, which was against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium, Arjun bowled the first and the third overs. He went wicketless and returned with the figures of 2-0-17-0. His role remained the same in the next game as well in a game against Kolkata SunRisers Hyderabad. Arjun gave away 14 runs with the new ball. But later in the game, he was given the responsibility to bowl the last over.

Though, it wasn’t the toughest final over but Arjun impressed everyone with his performance. He also went on to pick up the first wicket of his IPL career. In these three games, Arjun picked up his second wicket, however, he went very expensive as he gave away 31 runs in one over.
Against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, Arjun began on a promising note and conceded just 4 runs in the opening over. He even didn’t let his side wait too long for their breakthrough as he dismissed Wriddhiman Saha. It was a brilliant comeback by junior Tendulkar, who gave away just five runs.
Arjun Tendulkar has been receiving praise from all corners for his yorkers, however, his lack of express speed has been criticized by some.
Brett Lee Slammed Arjun’s Critics
Meanwhile, the young all-rounder has received massive support from the former Australian pacer Brett Lee. Speaking in an interaction facilitated by Jio Cinema, IPL’s digital broadcasters, Brett Lee slammed Arjun’s critics and extended his support towards the young talent. He also gave Arjun a piece of important advice. He said:
“You will have people criticise almost everything. If you look at Sandeep Sharma, he has been bowling at 120 kph. Arjun is bowling way faster than that. He is only 23 years of age and he has got his whole career ahead of him. My advice will be don’t listen to critics,”
He added: “Like his dad had to go through like he misses out and gets a low score, you got to back yourself. He has got some wonderful skills. He can bowl at 140 kph so as soon as he gets comfortable bowling in the team environment, gets more comfortable playing in front of the big lights and big crowd, his pace will increase. I see no issue with his pace. I know how fast he can bowl. He has got all the talent and all the right attributes. So my advice would be to keep doing what you have been doing and don’t listen to those people who are trying to have a go at him because remember most people who will criticise on social media have never bowled a ball in their life. They are keyboard warriors.”
