Gautam Gambhir has taken over as the Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team after Rahul Dravid moved away from the post after the competition of his contract post the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 win. Gambhir will have his new contract till the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. He will be in charge for the first time as the Head Coach of any team and his tenure will start with the 3-game T20I series against Sri Lanka in July.
Gambhir has always been a feisty character and a man with great mind. He was appointed as the mentor of Kolkata Knight riders before the start of the IPL 2024 and his insights have led the team to an IPL title win in 2024. Moreover, he was the captain of KKR in the other two IPL titles won in 2012 and 2014. He loves to win and has given his all on the field. There is no doubt that he will lead the Indian Cricket Team as the Head Coach with the same mindset.
Brett Lee Sees New Heights For Team India Under Gautam Gambhir
Former Aussie fast bowler, Brett Lee heaped praise on Gauti and said that the team will reach new levels under Gambhir. He also said that Gambhir’s aggressive nature will help the team in the best of ways and the Indian Cricket Team will be dominant under him.
Brett Lee stated: “He’s (Gautam Gambhir) done a terrific job every time he’s had an opportunity. The Indian Premier League title with KKR is the best example. He’s always been there, always at the top of his game. He finds a way to unite his players and graft his team together. He builds a solid structure.
