David Warner Turns The Screws

David Warner is one of the most explosive batsmen in the word, and his ability to clear the field at will, is incredible, and unlike many other dashers in the game, he looks elegant, too.

After a blistering start to his international career, Warner lost his touch, and went through a fairly longish “bad patch.” In this bad patch, he struggled to score runs, got into ugly controversies, and he was also, fined by his own board. It was a very difficult phase for David Warner. Everything was going against him, and as a result, he was made to stay away from the 22-yards.

Warner is said to be a very hard working cricketer, and in the first match of the ongoing Ashes series, he answered his critics in the best possible- with his big, blazing bat. He was hard-work was showing and he was looking determined.

In 23 test matches, David Warner has scored 4 test centuries, and, 2 out of his 4 centuries have come at a strike rate above 100.

Warner’s first Ashes century was a treat to watch. He showed good technique, and most importantly, he was trusting his instinct. Warner batted brilliantly in both the innings of the first ashes test match, but his century in the second innings in particular, was very special. His shot selection was spot-on, and he batted with utmost responsibilty. By the virtue of this knock, Warner has regained the respect of his team-mates and his captain, Michael Clarke, and most importantly- the selectors.

There are still four test matches to go in this series, and Warner would want to continue his good form throughout the series. All great batsmen make most of their good form, and this is the right time and moment for David Warner to pick his test career.

In the most post-match presser, Warner felt appologitic about his past controversies and said, “I probably did need a kick up the bum. I started respecting my body, and the game.”

Warner is looking confident, and this is a big plus for the Aussies, in this Ashes series.
