IPL 2024 Schedule: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host Faf du Plessis‘ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chepauk to kick start the IPL 2024 season on March 22, Friday.
The IPL has released IPL 2024 schedule for the first 21 matches, slated from March 22 to April 7. The remainder of the schedule will be announced after the Election Commission of India announces the General Election dates. The election is likely to take place in April and May.
The IPL 2024 final is expected to be slated for May 26, which will be only five days before the start of the T20 World Cup in June in the West Indies and USA.
There is a double-header on the second day of the season, on March 23, Saturday. In the second match of March 24, Sunday’s double header will be between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, now led by GT’s former skipper Hardik Pandya.
Also, Delhi Capitals will not play their first two home matches in Delhi. DC’s first two home games will be played in Visakhapatnam because the Delhi stadium won’t be ready in time after hosting 11 Women’s Premier League matches.
Overall, 74 games will be played in the IPL 2024 season.
