Mumbai Indians made the worst possible start to their innings against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. CSK took the driving seat by taking Mumbai Indians’ first three wickets inside three overs.
MI captain Rohit Sharma tried a new opening combination for their game against CSK. For the first time in five years, Rohit didn’t come out to open the innings, instead, he gave away his opening slot to Cameron Green, who opened the innings with Ishan Kishan. However, the plan backfired badly.
Cameron Green departed in the second over itself on a paltry score of 6 (4b, 4×1). On the other hand, Ishan Kishan survived just three other balls before he also walked back to the pavilion. Rohit also offered a simple catch to CSK’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja at gully while trying to play a lap shot minutes later.
After losing three early wickets, Mumbai Indians got some breather when Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera brought the much-needed momentum to the game. They added 55 runs for the 4th wicket, however, soon Ravindra Jadeja broke the partnership in his usual style of bowling.
Ravindra Jadeja Dismissed SKY

It was in the 11th over of the game, when Jadeja bowled a straighter one with a 102.0 KMPH pace and SKY sliced the ball toward the third man. However, he missed it completely due to the pace of the ball. Jadeja’s ball went on to hit straight to SKY’s middle and off stump. SKY was eventually dismissed after scoring 26 runs in 22 balls, smashing 3 fours.
