Chennai has all the reasons to be ecstatic as Chennai Super Kings gets Dhoni back as their captain. Chennai Super Kings would be making a comeback in IPL 2018 after being banned for two years.

This ban was imposed on Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for being guilty of spot fixing. But this IPL both of these teams will make their way back to the most loved domestic cricket league of the nation.

The supporters of CSK have got the best possible New Year gift, their favourite captain is back. Mahi will don the yellow jersey once again and would be seen in the shoes of a captain after long. Dhoni is undoubtably Chennai’s favourite and cricket lovers in Chennai consider Mahi as their own.

Retention Policy Announced

The IPL Governing Council announced the retention policy finally. As per the retention policy each franchise can retain a maximum of 3 capped players. The Director of CSK confirmed that when it comes to naming the captain of the comeback side then they are not looking for any name beyond MS Dhoni.

This announcement is much to the expectations and announcement of Dhoni fans and the fan base of Chennai Super Kings.

The Council announced that both Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings can retain players from their 2015 pools. With this announcement the return of Mahi to CSK became absolutely certain.

Now what would be interesting to watch out are the names of other players that the CSK would retain besides Dhoni. The pool of 2015 has 13 players and the Director of CSK, George John stated that they are quite content with the retention rules.
