Gautam Gambhir, after scoring a duck in the first match, scored blazing 60 runs in the second. In the match against Lahore Lions, Gambhir looked in good touch and scored freely throughout the innings. Gambhir started his innings in a very aggressive manner, and scored runs all around the park. Gautam Gambhir has been in a terrible form off late, but he looked very fluent in this innings. Gambhir has been struggling outside the off-stump, in fact, he had no idea about his off-stump in the Test series England, but in the match against, Gambhir played good shots on the off-side, and his bat came down very straight.

After the series against England, Sourav Ganguly, in a post match show said, “Gambhir’s bat is coming down at an angle. He should look to play more straight.” In this innings, Gambhir was looking keen to go forward and be positive. He played some brilliant shots in front of the wicket. Gambhir has always been a good player of spin bowling. He attacked the Lions’ spinner straight away and played some good lofty shots on both sides of the wicket. He also played some brilliant cut shots on the back foot. He didn’t allow Lions’ spinner to settle down.

An inform Gambhir adds some much more value to the Kolkata Knight Riders’ side. His opening stand with Robin Uthappa laid a solid fountain for the hitters to come, and this allowed Kolkata Knight Riders to win a very close match against Lahore Lions.

Now, it’s important for Gautam Gambhir to keep scoring the runs and get back into run-scoring form. Kolkata Knight Rider look a much stronger side, when Gambhir score runs. This tournament is also crucial from Gambhir’s personal perspective, as the Cricket World Cup 2015 is just around the corner, and he would want to score some runs and impress the selectors before the big announcement is made.
