Conspiracy Theory: Was Sachin Tendulkar Behind The Sacking Of Rohit Sharma As MI Captain

The IPL 2024 will feel a bit weird for the Mumbai Indians fans because Rohit Sharma will not be walking out at the toss, neither will he be marshalling the fields and making bowling changes. That is because the captain rein of Rohit Sharma has come to an end in the IPL: Hardik Pandya, who returned to MI after spending two seasons at Gujarat Titans, was named the new MI captain ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

Rohit’s sacking as the MI captain – after a decade of immense success where he led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles – came as a shock to the fans and experts, most of whom have openly expressed their disagreement with the decision made by the Mumbai Indians owners and management.

It has mostly been Mahela Jayawardene, the Global Head of Performance of MI franchises, and Mark Boucher, the head coach of MI, who have fronted up the questions regarding the shift in captaincy.

Now, interestingly, one fan has left open a conspiracy theory that Sachin Tendulkar might be involved in the sacking of Rohit. Not only this, this fan dug up some heavy details and has made a compelling case, alleging that it is Sachin Tendulkar, who is the mentor of Mumbai Indians, who was behind the franchise replacing Rohit as the skipper.

A fan, with Twitter handle @time__square, tweeted: Sachin is clearly having some issues with Rohit since last 2 years maybe because of his son Arjun not getting any chances in MI color . Further , Arjun also got dropped from squad after 2 games.

Is Sachin Tendulkar the main culprit behind removing Rohit Sharma as MI captain?

This fan further pointed out that Sachin Tendulkar regularly posts on special performances from all players but Rohit Sharma, and that the Master also doesn’t wish Rohit publically on his birthday. In fact, this user claims that the last time Tendulkar posted individually for Rohit was back in April 2022.

In this period, while Rohit hasn’t led India or Mumbai Indians to an ICC or IPL trophy, the India captain has been in stunning form with the bat, but, the user claims, Tendulkar hasn’t posted a tweet or Insta post, particularly for the senior opener.

Adding more spice to this hot topic, Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, follows the likes of Hardik and Kishan on Instagram but not Rohit Sharma!
