“Corrupt, Arrogant Guy”: Venkatesh Prasad Takes Indirect Dig At Jay Shah

Over the past 24 hours, former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has made some really scathing and critical, yet all the opinion of the general public, remarks against the BCCI and the ACC, both organizations of which have Jay Shah as their main man.

Venkatesh Prasad has lashed out at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for adding a reserve day for the India vs Pakistan Super 4 match in the Asia Cup 2023 but not in other teams’ matches. He has been severely critical – and the only high-profile former India cricketer – who has made comments against the BCCI’s shambolic management of the World Cup 2023.

On Saturday afternoon, then, Venkatesh Prasad tweeted, calling out “one corrupt, arrogant guy”, who fans are speculating to be Jay Shah, for corrupting the BCCI. Jay Shah is the BCCI Secretary and the ACC President.

“It takes one corrupt, arrogant guy to take away the hardwork of an organisation that is generally non-corrupt and get a stamp of corruption on the whole leadership , not just on a micro level but at a large level,” Venkatesh Prasad tweeted.

This tweet from Prasad went viral in quick time with fans applauding his guts and courage to speak up against the BCCI, something which none of the former cricketers of the commentators have done.

However, after a couple of hours, Venkatesh Prasad deleted this tweet of his, with fans speculating that perhaps he had been threatened by the BCCI officials.

Venkatesh Prasad speaks up BCCI’s poor management

The BCCI’s mismanagement of the schedule and tickets of the World Cup 2023 has left the fans angry and frustrated. However, that is unlikely to change anything in the board as it has never taken the fans, its biggest stakeholders, with any care.

Venkatesh Prasad tweeted: “There is no debate and doubt on the fact that we have messed up the lead up to the World Cup. Unreasonable delay in schedule in the first place and if that wasn’t enough changing the schedule hampering 5 matches in the process, if that wasn’t enough a completely non-transparent and inefficient ticket system only encouraging black marketeers. It is a proud moment to be hosting a World Cup and it should have been a great time for the fans but these difficulties for the fans doesn’t look unplanned . It’s time we wake up and not make this incompetence a norm just because “Yes Men” around don’t want to speak up .
It is a matter of national prestige.”
