Cricket World Cup 2023: A Fan Posts The Pathetic Condition Of Seats In The Hyderabad Stadium

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad has been the subject of much debate as the ICC World Cup 2023 approaches. Recently, a picture showing damaged seats at the arena circulated widely on social media.

The State of Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad Ahead of ICC World Cup 2023:

Concerns Arise Over Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium’s Condition

Both the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have received vocal criticism from fans. The dirty and broken seats at the stadium, which will host a World Cup match in three days, are the main targets of their ire.

On October 6, Pakistan and the Netherlands will face off in the World Cup’s second match, which will be played at the stadium in Uppal. On October 9, the Dutch squad will take against New Zealand. Pakistan will play Sri Lanka the next day at the same location.

Fans Express Discontent

A recent warm-up match between Pakistan and Australia was played at the venue. Fans who spent up to 1000 for tickets to this event complained about the poor condition of the seats. The stadiums chosen for the World Cup and the warm-up games had received significant funding for renovations from the Indian cricket body.

BCCI’s Investment in Venue Upgrades

The BCCI reportedly gave 50 crore to each World Cup location to improve infrastructure before the October 5 start date of the mega-event. However, issues with the state of the stadium’s seats continue to be a source of worry.

India’s First Sole Hosting of ODI World Cup

India is hosting the ODI World Cup for the first time ever. However, the BCCI has been criticised on several fronts, including ticket availability and price, scheduling changes, visa problems for Pakistan, and the quality of the stadiums, which have recently deteriorated. Collectively, these problems dampen the spirit of what ought to be a joyous occasion in cricket.
