Rishabh Pant Hilariously Runs To Catch The Ball But In Wrong Direction: After an onerous day in the office against England, the Indian bowlers were desperate to get a comical break to keep them going.
Defying the scorching heat and humidity in Chennai, the English batters braved the Indian bowlers without any ado. Joe Root led the charge with a scintillating double-century in his hundredth Test match, sparking an incredible record.
However, when everyone in India’s colours seemed out of sorts and hope, Rishabh Pant gave everyone a reason to smile, not in the way India expected him to but in his own sweet and charming outfit.
Ideally, as Root was hacking away at the Indian bowlers at his own sweet pace, Ashwin was the only one who seemed to trouble him.
He finally managed to give India a glimmer of hope when he tossed a delivery just ahead of Root and the latter in a miscued attempt to sweep it dinked it a million miles in the air.
This is where the laughters unfolded as the ball flew behind the stumps and Rohit Sharma rushed for a desperate dive to put an end to Root’s heroics. Pant, on the contrary, clasped his gloves and ran towards the bowler, expecting it to land in his arms.
It was almost an hour late than the Indian wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant managed to realise that he has come the wrong way. Rohit couldn’t pick up the catch either as it drifted away from him.

However, Pant was relieved of the compunction shortly as Nadeem managed to bowl an absolute cruncher that removed Root in quick succession.
For a second consecutive day where the English batters toyed with the Indian bowlers, Root and Stokes were in sublime touch and left the Indians ruing missed opportunities.
