Cricketers Erupted With Joy After Neeraj Chopra Won The Gold Medal

Unnati MadanBy Unnati MadanUpdated:09/02/2023No Comments5 Mins Read

The History has been made!! India’s sensational Neeraj Chopra put in a stellar performance to win India’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in athletics. The 23-year-old registered a best attempt of 87.58 to defeat the Czech Republic duo of Jakub Vadlejch and Vitezslav Vesely to create a history.

Neeraj has become only the second Indian athlete after Abhinav Bindra’s heroics in Beijing 2008, to win a gold medal in an individual event for our country. Also, it was India’s first gold medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.

With this historic win, India’s son Neeraj Chopra has also taken India’s medal haul to seven in the ongoing games, which is the country’s highest ever, beating the previous record of six medals won at the London Games in 2012.

Neeraj Chopra had come into the final as a favorite to win a medal. Ever since the beginning of the final, he was looking in red hot form and none of the other throwers could match him.

Talking more about his performance, he started off with a throw of 87.03, taking the top seat after the first round itself. The second round was even better as his second thrown was 87.58. His third throw of 76.79m wasn’t his best, but he was still leading the charts. Chopra’s fourth and fifth attempts were foul throws, but he remained at the top.

He won the gold medal with a stunning 87.58 m throw.

Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with amazing tweets and posts dedicated to the Golden Boy of India. The cricketing fraternity of India also joined the bandwagon and came up with amazing reactions to congratulate Neeraj Chopra on the incredible win.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
