The return of MS Dhoni as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings has got the CSK fans celebrating. Earlier the Chennai Super Kings went on to retain MS Dhoni along with Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. While MS Dhoni was retained for 15 crores, Raina and Jadeja were retained for payrolls of 11 crores and 7 crores each.

CSK Names Vice Captain

The Chennai Super Kings have also revealed that Suresh Raina will be MS Dhoni’s Vice for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The Chennai Super Kings will be making a comeback after two years of having faced a suspension for spot fixing.

Revealing the decisions of the Chennai Super Kings team management, Suresh Raina said, “MS Dhoni will be the captain, I’m going to be the vice captain.” Suresh Raina also gave a glimpse of the auction plans of the Chennai Super Kings which will be held in Bangalore towards the end of January.

Talking about the IPL auctions the left handed batsman said, “Then there are certain players in the auction. We will all be having a meeting soon and then decide what planning we will be having for the auctions.”

The Chennai Super Kings will go into the auctions with a purse of 47 crore rupees. The Chennai Super Kings have always been the favourite contenders for the title given their lethal team and they would again look to rebuild the team around 3 retained players on the same line.

Chennai Super Kings would also want to use the Right To Match to good effect and get the best players to its side.

Chennai fans were just ecstatic to see MS Dhoni coming back. Like they call him, he’s the ‘Thalla’ for the Chennai Super Kings fans. The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League seems already too exciting.
