There was a sense of robust excitement in Chennai fans when they heard that MS Dhoni may don the yellow jersey once again and the Chennai Super Kings come back after a two-year ban.

They would now be dancing with joy to know that as per reports, Chennai Superkings franchise has retained MS Dhoni, R Ashwin and Du Plessis. This means that Dhoni would once again be seen in hues of his favorite team as Chennai gets Dhoni back.

MS Dhoni is amply loved in Chennai and Chennai has always been warm to him as if Chennai too is Dhoni’s home. The IPL Governing Council will soon announce the retention policy for the 2018 IPL and it is being strongly speculated that teams would be allowed to retain three players.

Reports have come in wherein the Chennai Superkings have decided to retain these three players while Suresh Raina has been excluded from the pool of retained players. Till IPL 8 Suresh Raina was an integral part of the CSK dugout but in all probabilities, the franchise has decided to let him go.

These claims have been made by a report in a Tamil Daily. While CSK was banned for two years for spot-fixing, Dhoni played the last two IPLs for the Rising Pune Supergiants while Suresh Raina was at the helm of the Gujarat Lions.

Suresh Raina’s expulsion, as claimed by the Tamil Daily comes as a surprise. Rajasthan Royals was the other team that was maligned for two years and now Rajasthan Royals too would make a comeback in the next edition. Both these teams can pick players from the pool of players consisting of Gujarat Lions and Pune Supergiants.

The IPL Governing Council will announce the retention policy on November 21 and as many as 500 players would be under the hammer of auctions for the 11th edition of the high voltage Indian T20 league.
