Dale Steyn Is All Set For International Comeback

Dale Steyn is one of the best fast bowlers in the history of the game. In his long and illustrious career for South Africa, Dale Steyn has troubled almost every batter of his generation and established himself as a true great of the game. Steyn’s biggest strength is to swing the ball both ways, at his pace. His ability to keep bowling fast and trouble the batters with swing and seam is exemplary and many great batsmen have said that he is one of the toughest bowlers they have faced.

However, in the last couple of years, Steyn has struggled to keep his body match-fit and he hasn’t played too much international cricket for South Africa. Steyn, who is currently playing in the Big Bash League in Australia, has been hit by back-to-back injuries and this has kept him away from the game.

But, being a fighter that he is, Dale Steyn is eyeing a proper international comeback in South Africa’s next T20I series against England. Speaking to cricket.com.au, Steyn said he will be part of the T20I squad against England.

“I know I’ll be part of (the T20 series against England), that was the last conversation I’ve had,” Dale Steyn told cricket.com.au after the Stars’ three-wicket win over the Sydney Thunder. “I get a nice two-week break, then straight into it again.

“I’ll be around for the ODIs – to be honest, I don’t know how much I’ll play (in the ODIs) … I’ll be there for that and then definitely the T20s.

“But I think it’s important to have that (experienced) figure around in the dressing room,” he added.

Steyn has not played for South Africa since March last year and was left out of their T20 squad to face India in September, and his comeback will make his fans across the world very excited.
