In the first T20I India continued their winning momentum and decimated the Proteas by 28 runs to take a 1-0 lead.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the first Indian bowler ever to take a five-wicket haul each across all the formats of international cricket. He also became only the second Indian bowler to take a 5 wicket haul in the shortest format of the game after spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Bhuvneshwar was not really among wickets in the ODI series but finally, he joined the party and when he gets going there is no one better than him.

In the first T20I against South Africa, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was the pick of the Indian bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 5 wickets for just 24 runs from 4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up one wicket each.
Before that India had set a target of 204 riding on a great knock by Shikhar Dhawan who has been in a splendid form on this tour.
