Well, it all started when PSL was canceled in March due to the rising number of COVID cases within the bio-bubbles in Pakistan. Several Indian fans trolled the Pakistan Cricket Board for the same and even went on to compare with the IPL and how smoothly it was conducted in October last year in the UAE.

Among many, a twitter user took a dig at Steyn by writing: More time at hand for @DaleSteyn62 to figure out which of PSL or IPL is better. Perhaps also accounting for the fact that once started, the IPL managed to finish!”

At the time, Dale Steyn had simply replied: “Haha you’re funny.”

It was just a couple of months ago when the South African bowler Dale Steyn found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling when his statements were perceived as a negative endorsement for the IPL. He had compared IPL with PSL and had said:

“I think when you go to the IPL, there’s such big squads and so many big names and so much emphasis on maybe the amount of money players earn and everything like that, so sometimes, somewhere down the line, cricket gets forgotten. I have found that playing in other leagues was slightly more rewarding as a player.”

Meanwhile, for the unversed, On Tuesday, the IPL governing council and the BCCI took a bold decision to postpone the IPL with players being allowed to head back home.
