Dale Steyn’s Cryptic Tweet For Virat Kohli Is A Warning For Other Teams Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2022

Virat Kohli is hitting the right form just before next month’s T20 World Cup. Not only the fans of Kohli, but also most ex-cricketers feel the same – including Dale Steyn, who, it won’t be wrong to say, is also a massive fan of Virat Kohli.

Kohli had returned to form, and broken his century drought in the last match of the Asia Cup, slamming 122* against Afghanistan. However, he had a couple of cheap outings against Australia – managing scores of 2 and 11.

The KING roared back when India needed him the most, and smashed a match-winning half-century in the third and series-deciding T20I, in Hyderabad. Kohli, who’d come in to bat at the end of the first over after KL Rahul’s early dismissal, scored 63 runs off 48 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes during India’s chase of 187.

With his entertaining and crucially, match-winning, half-century, Kohli has shut any more detractors and trollers. This, for Dale Steyn, is further a warning to other teams ahead of the T20 World Cup.

“Someone’s hitting some form just before the WC,” tweeted Steyn, who is a former RCB teammate of Kohli’s.

Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli fifties steal the show in Hyderabad

Awarded with the Player of the Match, Suryakumar Yadav continues to dazzle the fans as he stroked 69 runs off 36 balls (strike rate 191). The India number 4 batter walloped 5 fours and 5 sixes in what was one of his best T20 knocks, given the opposition – the defending T20 World Cup champions – and the high-pressure game of being a series-decider.

The right-hander scored 63 runs off 48 balls and was involved in a big partnership of 104 runs (62 balls) with Suryakumar Yadav and 48 (32) with Hardik Pandya. Apart from SKY and Kohli, Hardik Pandya scored 25 runs off 16 balls to seal the game with one ball left.

Virat Kohli said: “That’s why I’m batting at 3, I have to utilise my experience and give the team what the team wants. I got off to a good start then I had to take down Zampa because he’s an important bowler through the middle. When Surya started hitting it like that, I kinda looked at the dug-out as well. Rohit and Rahul bhai both told me, ‘you can just keep batting on’ because Surya was striking it that well. It was just about building a partnership. I just used my experience a little bit

Suryakumar Yadav said: “In that situation I thought let me take my chance. I had two three shots in mind but I tried to hit over mid-off only. My mindset is pretty clear. Loving it at No. 4. There will be tough challenge but you got to express yourself and been a little smart as well.”
