The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is regarded as one of the greatest captains in the world. It was under his leadership that the Indian cricket team touched new heights and won all the ICC World Cup tournaments. He took the Indian cricket team to the number 1 spot during his captaincy.
As far as Indian Premier League is concerned MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, are two of the most successful captains in the history of the Indian Premier League. While Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians side is the most successful team of the Indian Premier League, having won the title four times, on the other hand, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings has won the title three times.
Recently, former New Zealand fast bowler Danny Morrison picked Chennai Super Kings’ skipper MS Dhoni as the best captain in the Indian Premier League. Danny believes that Dhoni pips Rohit Sharma because of the vibe and aura he carries. He said:
“Looking at the vibe and the inspiration of that fellow (MS Dhoni) in yellow and what he did for India in blue and that helicopter shot which changes the course of the game… yes he is a lot older and finishing up (and) Rohit’s got more time. But for me Dhoni takes the pressure like no one else,”
Earlier, former Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir was also asked to pick his favorite skipper among MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma in the Indian Premier League. Gautam Gambhir picked Rohit Sharma as his favorite. He also said that captaincy is all about winning trophies and as Rohit has won more trophies than MS Dhoni, he picked him. He said:
“I think it’s Rohit Sharma. He has won it four times. Captaincy is all about winning trophies,”
