Darren Sammy Posted An Emotional Tweet For Windies: West Indies cricket team suffered a humiliating defeat against England as they were bundled for a paltry 55 runs in the first innings of their opening clash in the 2021 Two World Cup against England. The Eoin Morgan-led side chased down the target in just 8.2 overs and won the match by six wickets.

The West Indies side set a meager target of 56 runs as only one batsman was able to cross double figures.  Chris Gayle was the highest scorer as he hit 13 runs off 13 deliveries and no other batter scored double-digit runs to summarize their terrible performance with the bat.

Later, Jos Buttler played a sensible knock against West Indies, ensuring that his team reach the target safely. Earlier, Moeen Ali (2/17) and Tymal Mills (2/17) played crucial roles in the bowling department to bundle up the West Indies side. Chris Woakes picked up one wicket, however, it was leg spinner Adil Rashid (4/2) who turned out to be the hero with the ball as he spun a web around the West Indies middle-order batters.

The Cricket fraternity and the fans around the globe were left shocked after the embarrassing performance given by West Indies players. Several people took to Twitter and slammed the West Indies batters and labeled them as one-dimensional flat-track bullies.

Among many, West Indies’ cricketer Daren Sammy also took to his Twitter to express his disappointment. In his Tweet, he expressed how he didn’t see the batting collapse of West Indies coming. He also backed Kieron Pollard and his men for the tournament ahead. He wrote:

“Still trying to understand what happened. I for sure didn’t see this coming. Well at least the bad game is out the way. Still backing captain @KieronPollard55 and his men.. let’s gooooooo @windiescricket”
