After enduring a disappointing season in the IPL, nobody would have thought that David Warner will go on to play a crucial role in winning his side their maiden T20 World Cup trophy. Ahead of the just-concluded T20 World Cup, David Warner was getting criticism from all corners, he was ruled out by many for his poor form, however, the cricketer made a stunning comeback and went on to win the highest individual honour — the Player of the tournament award.

David Warner endured a disastrous season in IPL, having made the scapegoat for the team’s poor performance. The star cricketer wasn’t just relieved of his captaincy duties by the SunRisers Hyderabad but was also left out of the Playing XI for the majority of the season.

Not only that, the Southpaw wasn’t even included in the extended squad, which means that he wasn’t even allowed to travel with the team to the stadium and enjoy the match from the dugout. This unfair treatment from the SunRisers Hyderabad raised a lot of eyebrows.

Meanwhile, with the mega-auctions for IPL 2022 just around the corner, whether David Warner will be redeemed by SunRisers Hyderabad or not, has become one of the most talked about topics on social media. However, Warner feels that SunRisers Hyderabad will still be favoring Kane Williamson for the post of the skipper.

Recently, while replying to an Instagram user, David Warner reckoned that Kane Williamson may well resume his duties for the Orange Army in the upcoming season as well. He said:

“@yaazey6 make sure you keep supporting as my friend Kane will still be there, please,”

Earlier, Warner had expressed that he was hurt with how things unfolded for him in IPL 2021. He was quoted as saying by Economic Times:

“When you are dropped from the team you have loved the most for years without any real fault of yours and stripped of captaincy without being given a reason, it hurts,”
