David Warner Gave An Epic Reply When Asked About His Critics After His Solid Comeback

After a disappointing start against South Africa, the Australian cricket team made a solid comeback in the T20 World Cup game last night against Sri Lanka. While the team gave a complete performance to defeat Sri Lankans, however, one of the biggest positives from the match for the Australian side was their star batsman David Warner returning back to the form.

David Warner Gave An Epic Reply When Asked About His Critics After His Solid Comeback

David Warner, who was under the scanner for a long time because of his poor run with the bat, bounced back to the form as he played a crucial knock to take his side home in the game. Earlier, Warner had scored 14 in the opening win over South Africa after scoring 1 and 0 in practice matches against India and New Zealand. His form had become one of the most talked-about things, however, he felt that the talk of him being out of form was premature.

On Wednesday, ahead of the game, during a press conference, he had said: “I actually think people talking about my form is quite funny. I laugh at the matter,” he said on Wednesday. “I’ve played hardly any cricket. I had two games in the IPL and then warm-up games are warm-up games for a reason.”

Ironically, the star batsman has now bounced back to the form. He played a stunning knock of 65 runs off 42 runs, where he smashed 10 boundaries, to help his team chase down the target easily. A wave of happiness went over the fans of David Warner, who were waiting for his much-awaiting return to the form.

After the match, the star opener talked about his performance. He said:

“Tonight, I had to obviously start fresh. Everyone was talking about my form, which I reiterated was not a thing I was worried about. It was about going out there and starting well. That’s all we’re trying to do, apply pressure to the bowlers.”

While his fans feel that the star cricketer has silenced his critics with the bat, but Warner said his innings against Sri Lanka was not about silencing the doubters. He said:

Shutting the critics down? No, never,”

He added: “That’s the world of sport. When you ride the highs you’ve got to ride the lows; you’ve got to stay confident, keep a smile on your face and never let it get to you.”
