David Warner Hailed Virat Kohli For His Dream Run In IPL 2016: Virat Kohli’s tenure as the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore came to an end on a very disappointing note. RCB suffered a four-wicket loss against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator round.
Ahead of the UAE leg, Virat had announced that he will step down as the skipper of RCB after the completion of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Though Virat has achieved a lot of milestones and shattered many records, but the talismanic cricketer never tasted glory as a skipper.
It was in the year 2013 when Virat Kohli took over as the skipper of the Bangaluru-based side. Ever since then, he has played numerous sensational knocks. In fact, his tally of 4481 runs is the most for a captain in the history of the Indian Premier League. While Virat has managed to shine with the bat in the 2016 edition has to be the highlight of Kohli’s IPL career.
In the 2016 season, Virat was able to score 973 runs that season highest for any batter in an IPL season. On Wednesday, David Warner hailed the splendid run of Virat Kohli in that tournament and showered praises on the Indian skipper.
Well, the SunRisers Hyderabad’s former skipper was reacting to the stat showing the list of highest run-getter in IPL as captain. While Warner was placed at the fifth position with 2840 runs, Kohli was sitting at the top of the list.
Interestingly, it was Sunrisers Hyderabad that dented RCB’s campaign in the 2016 season. The two sides met in the final clash and the Orange Army emerged victorious by 8 runs, lifting their maiden IPL title. Heaping praises at Virat Kohli, he wrote:
“Not bad at all @imVkohli 2016 was a different level almost 1000 for the season,”
