Australia’s star batsman David Warner has confirmed his participation in the upcoming 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League however not with Sunrisers Hyderabad. David Warner has played a crucial role in the success of Sunrisers Hyderabad, both as a skipper and as a player. However, he had the worst time in the recently concluded edition of the Indian Premier League.

Warner was first removed as the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this year, and then during the UAE leg of the season, he was even dropped from the playing XI of the team. He was seen watching the last few matches of his side from the stands. This bold move of SRH left everyone in shock.

While speaking to radio station SEN, David Warner has finally opened up about many things including the mega auction next year. Warner said that he would submit his name for the mega auction next year as he is sure that Sunrisers Hyderabad will not retain him. He said he is looking forward to a fresh start in the IPL. He said:

“I will put my name in the auction. By the signs of the recent IPL, I won’t be retained by the SunRisers, so I’m looking forward to a fresh start,”

He also admitted that being left out by the team was a “tough pill to swallow”. He said:

“I kind of laughed at the reasoning, that two guys were hitting the ball out of the middle a little bit better than I was. Given that when you’re playing the game you’re playing the scenario,”

He added:

“Obviously there are a lot of moving parts around there. What you have to do as a professional athlete is take it on the chin and do everything you can for the team. Not being able to go there, run drinks and be around was when it sort of hit home that it could be personal, and I’m still yet to get those answers,”

Meanwhile, the mega auction is expected to be held in December or January.
