DC vs KKR: Hero And Villain Of The Game As KKR Beat DC By 106 Runs

DC vs KKR: The Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders faced off in a thrilling IPL 2024 match held in Vizag. KKR won the toss and opted to bat first. Wow, KKR really made a statement with their incredible start, scoring an impressive 272 runs in just 20 overs. Sunil Narine had an outstanding performance, smashing 85 runs in just 39 balls. Angkrish Raghuvanshi had an impressive performance, scoring 54 runs off 27 balls, while Andre Russell also made a valuable contribution with 41 runs off 19 balls. Rinku Singh once again displayed his talent in the final moments, delivering an outstanding performance by scoring 26 runs off a mere 8 balls. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals’ batters had no options other than going for their shots right from the start. However, they managed to score 166 runs and get all out in 17.2 overs. KKR managed to win the game by 106 runs and record the biggest win in IPL 2024. They have won 3 matches on the trot. Let us take a look at the heroes and villains of the game.

DC vs KKR: Hero And Villain Of The Game As KKR Beat DC By 106 Runs:

Hero of the game: Sunil Narine

Basically all the KKR batters were sensational with the bat. However, one man, who set it up right at the start was Sunil Narine. Riding high on his explosive innings against RCB, Sunil Narine took apart the DC bowlers and wreaked havoc on them. He smashed 85 runs off 39 balls with a strike rate of 217.95. Narine hit 7 fours and 7 towering sixes during the innings. He absolutely took the game away from Delhi Capitals. So, even though every batter chipped in for KKR, he is going to be out to be our hero of the game. It was well proved as Narine also won the Player Of The Match award.

Villain of the game: Rishabh Pant

Although nothing went right for the Delhi Capitals bowlers, and everyone went of runs, I will still call Delhi Capitals’ wicket-keeper and captain, Rishabh Pant as the villain of the game. Rishabh Pant scored 55 runs off 25 balls in the second inning. However, Pant already had committed a big bounder on the field. He had the chance to pick up the wicket of Sunil Narine very early but he misjudged it completely. In just the fourth over of the innings, Ishant Sharma delivered a short of a good length ball to Sunil Narine. Narine wanted to go big but the ball caught the outside edge of the catch and went safely into the hands of Rishabh Pant.

There was a clear noise as the ball passed the outside edge of Narine’s bat. However, no one appealed apart from Mitchell Marsh, who showed a little interest. Moreover, Rishabh Pant was even late to go for the DRS and that proved to be very costly for DC. In the latter half of the innings, Pant did the same mistake yet again. Rishabh Pant missed a clear chance to get Shreyas Iyer out. Pant didn’t take the DRS when there was a big edge.
