IPL 2018: After Kedar Jadhav, CSK Has Lost Another Key Player Due To An Injury

A Big Blow To CSK: The eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) has seen many injuries so far. Right from its first week players from almost every franchise have suffered injuries and this has led to troubles for the franchises and their captains.

IPL is a very fast-moving tournament and a difficult one too because it is played during summers in India and players, specially overseas players, find it difficult to keep going for almost 2 months in the scorching heat of most of the cities in India.

The latest injury blow has come for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) who have been hit very badly with injuries. In their second match of the season, Suresh Raina injured his calf and missed 3 matches. Immediately after Raina’s injury, middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav was ruled out for the entire tournament due to an injury.

South African captain and one of CSK’s best batsman Faf du Plessis has also been nursing an injury and has not been able to contribute at the best of his ability.

Now, CSK’s young fast bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled for at least two weeks with a hamstring strain and this would really hurt team’s balance because Chahar has been a regular member in the playing XI in IPL 2018. However, it would be interesting to see who will replace Deepak Chahar in the playing XI.

According to media reports, Deepak Chahar sustained the injury during the match between CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday and it will take at least two weeks to heal.

“He (Chahar) has had hamstring injuries in the past, he has a pretty good idea when he is in trouble,” ESPNCricinfo quoted Super Kings’ coach Stephen Fleming as saying.

“Conservatively, it’s probably a couple of weeks, which is a bit of a blow,” Fleming added.

Deepak Chahar has played all the seven games for CSK so far and picked up six wickets at an average of 23.17.
