Fact-Check: Was this viral Tweet penned by Jasprit Bumrah?
Well, the tweet has gone crazily viral on the internet as fans from all corners are reacting to the tweet. However, the Tweet was not done by the Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah, in fact, the tweet has been penned and shared by a parody account of Bumrah. Going by the Tweet, the fan was trying to take a dig at Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Rizwan’s recent act, where he dedicated his performance to the people in Gaza.
For the unversed, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Rizwan found himself at the receiving end of criticism after he dedicated his team’s win in a recent World Cup 2023 game against Sri Lanka to the people of Gaza, who have faced relentless Israeli bombardment over the last few days.
After Pakistan’s win, Rizwan was adjudged the player of the match after he scored a century as Pakistan completed the tournament’s highest-ever successful run chase to beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in Hyderabad, India.
Later, he took to his social media and dedicated his performance to people in Gaza. He wrote:
“This was for our brothers and sisters in Gaza,”

Here’s What Bumrah Said After Winning The Man Of The Match Award
Jasprit Bumrah won the Man of the Match award. Later, while speaking at the press conference, Jasprit said:
“It felt good. Usually you try to analyse the wicket as soon as possible. We realised the wicket is on the slower side so we wanted to bowl hard lengths. We were trying to make it as difficult as possible. (On how he reads pitches quickly and understands what lengths work) Just being aware I guess. I used to ask a lot of questions when I was young and that helps me now. Now I’m experienced. In my younger days they (seniors) were used to being troubled by me sometimes (with questions), but it helps to read the wicket and try different options. (On the slower ball to get rid of Rizwan) We were bowling in the middle overs and I saw Jaddu’s ball was turning, not too much but a little bit. I count my slower ball as a spinner’s slower ball, one of those days where it came off. (On the ball that got Shadab) Little phase where there was reverse swing, one of the occasions when the white ball was reverse swinging.”
