For the last ten years, India’s batting performance has revolved mostly around Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Kohli’s constant run-scoring and aggressive style have raised great expectations. In big games he comes up with great innings. He is still an important player for India. Conversely, Rohit Sharma sets up the innings right from the word go and takes the attack to the opposition. His ability to modify his game—especially in limited-overs cricket—has been really vital. Taken together, they have created a strong alliance that has guided India’s batting line to several triumphs. Their efforts have helped the team’s fortunes to be fashioned and they have been two of the most world class batters in the world.
Under Rohit Sharma, Team India sailed to victory without losing a single game in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The squad performed perfectly under Rohit’s direction and his captaincy. In the last, Virat Kohli emerged to rise to the occasion and scored a crucial 76 runs while battling for form. His performance was very vital to ensure the victory. Following the victory, Kohli and Rohit declared their T20 Internationals’ retirements. With their leave, an era of Indian cricket comes to a close. They have left behind a legacy of incredible T20 performance and great events.
