Remember Suraj Randiv, the former Sri Lankan cricketer, who was a part of Sri Lanka’s ICC 2011 World Cup squad? Well, his life has changed completely now and it has come out as a big surprise.
Well, Suraj Randiv, along with fellow cricketers Chinthaka Jayasinghe and Waddington Mwayenga have embarked on a new journey in their career as they now work as bus drivers in Melbourne for a France-based company called Transdev.
All the three cricketers play for local cricket clubs however they had to choose a different path in order to earn their bread and butter and survive in Australia. Talking about the company, Transdev is a company that employs 1200 drivers from different professions. These three cricketers are hoping that public transports can get their respective teams in the near future.
One of the three players, Suraj Randiv is the only cricketer who plays at the district level in Australia. He is also a part of the Dandenong Cricket Club. Recently, Suraj Randiv was appointed as a net bowler by Cricket Australia to help the national cricket team for the Test series against India during the four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy. Randiv revealed:
“I was asked by CA to come and bowl against their bowlers and I didn’t want to miss the opportunity,”
Kept thinking about how this net bowler has the exact same action as former Sri Lankan office Suraj Randiv and turns out it’s Suraj Randiv himself #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/qIz6SrZ79Q
