IPL 2020: Official Update On Dwayne Bravo’s Injury

Dwayne Bravo Injury Update: In an unfortunate development, Chennai coach, Stephen Fleming has confirmed that their star all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo will be out for a couple of games due to an injury.

We were startled to see the absence of Bravo in the IPL opener as Chennai romped over to a comfortable victory, thanks to a brilliant partnership between Ambati Rayudu and Faf Du Plessis.

In the post-match press conference, Fleming said, “Dwayne Bravo is out for a couple of games.” According to the former New Zealand opener, Bravo copped a niggle in the CPL and didn’t bowl in the final. However, the absence didn’t really bother Chennai as Sam Curran stepped up to the task and reaped handsome dividends.

It was Curran’s economic bowling that saw them setting the tone for victory. He conceded 28 runs and scalped the important wicket of Quinton De Kock, who looked dangerous.

However, his heroics with the bat helped Chennai deal that telling blow to the aspirations of the defending champions as he hammered 18 runs off just 6 balls, ushering the Yellow Army to the victory.

When asked about his performance, Fleming cited, “Curran’s performance was terrific”.

The former CSK player was absolutely ecstatic, expressing his joys about Rayudu and Du Plessis, the duo that stabilized the innings after an early jolt by Boult and Pattinson and finally set the platform for a Chennai victory.

Fleming said, “Rayudu has been nothing short of fantastic. He has been pretty emotional and played a great knock.”

However, he also expressed his concerns about the fact that the pitch wasn’t really a paradise for the batsmen and the team failed to strike the right balance. Barring Du Plessis, the rest were sloppy on the field. Dhoni had a rare DRS miss and it just seemed like that the match swing away from Chennai in the dying embers if not for that cute blitzkrieg from Curran.
