In shocking news, the Australian women’s cricketer Ellyse Perry and her husband Matt Toomua, have decided to part ways and end their marriage of four years. On Saturday, the couple released a joint statement to make an announcement about their divorce.
Ellyse Perry and Matt Toomua got married to each other in December 2015, however, it was from February this year that rumors of their separation were making rounds on media. In fact, during the Australian Cricket Awards in Melbourne, Ellyse was spotted without her wedding ring.
Announcing their separation, the joint statement about the couple read:
“It’s with the greatest of respect for one another that we decided to separate earlier this year. We felt this was the right course of action and is in the best interests of each other and our current lives. This is something that has evolved and is a mutual decision,”
The statement added:
“Throughout our relationship, we have remained private and we ask that our space and privacy continue to be respected during this difficult time for both of us,”
