Jofra Archer, who missed the 2022 English summer due to a back stress fracture, will join the England Lions’ training camp in the UAE the following month. Since July 2021, Archer has not played any competitive cricket and has not England since March 2021.

He had a long-standing elbow problem that required many surgeries last year, and as he was getting ready to make his comeback earlier this year, he fractured his back.

His bowling has improved over the past few months, and he kept his central contract for 2022–2023 because England is confident that he will be fully healthy in time for one of their tours in early 2023.

Saqib Mahmood, Brydon Carse, and Archer are the three fast bowlers who will fly to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to complete their recovery while observing a 15-member Lions training squad that includes Matthew Fisher, who also missed the majority of the 2022 season due to injury.

The Lions team will be in the UAE from November 6 through November 27. The tour’s finale will be a three-day exhibition game versus England’s Test team, which will begin on November 23.

The 18-year-old all-rounder and legs pinner Rehan Ahmed is the most notable member of the Lions squad. He has only played in three first-class matches, but the ECB holds him in high regard; as a result, the Test team may send him to Pakistan as a net bowler.

He is one of three spinners on the trip, the other two being Sussex’s Jack Carson and Nottinghamshire’s all-rounder Liam Patterson-White. Haseeb Hameed and Dan Lawrence, who both played Test cricket last winter, are included in the Lions team despite not having played since Brendon McCullum assumed the role of head coach in May.

The Pakistan tour will also include Matthew Potts, who was suddenly dropped despite taking 20 wickets in five Test matches this summer.

Hence Jofra Archer’s return will be one of the most important for England Cricket so it will be one of the important matches.
