The Ashes 2023 series is well and truly alive, on the field and off it. As England marched toward their first victory of the 5-Test series in Headingley, after being 2-0 down with losses in Edgbaston and Lord’s, a UK Pub Owner took a hilariously cheeky swipe at the Australians by flying a plane with a funny banner taking a dig at the visitors.

Can England Still Win The Ashes 2023? - Ben Stokes Answers

The Jonny Bairstow controversial run-out incident in the Lord’s Test has sparked up the fire under the England players and fans and it has spilled over onto the third Test in Leeds as well.

In the aftermath of Alex Carey running Bairstow out in Lord’s, the Lord’s crowd was heard vociferously chanting “Same Old Aussies – always cheating”. The UK PM also took side of his national cricket team and cited the Spirit Of Cricket. To which the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the chant goes, “Same old Aussies, always winning.”

In Headingley, England then, the crowd was also heard chanting the same chants of “Same Old Aussies – always cheating”.

This animosity from the crowd took over to a new level when in the first session of Day 4 in Leeds, a plane flew over the ground with a huge banner that read: “Same old Aussies – Taylor’s Sports Bar.”

Taylor’s Sports Bar had opened up in March earlier this year and saw this as a perfect opportunity for their advertisement to promote the bar during the Ashes 2023 series by taking a dig at the Australians.

At the ground was also present SEN commentator and journalist Bharat Sundaresan who wrote a funny tweet on this incident.

“Looks like one of those times when you’re trying to tweet out a story but the link is so long that you’ve reached your word limit & can’t really describe what the story is about #Ashes” Bharat tweeted.
