Francois du Plessis, South Africa’s top order batsman has created his own record. He has become the first ever cricketer to 100 innings without getting a duck. He has played 52 ODI’s, 20 T20I’s and 17 tests (28 innings) without getting dismissed for a duck.

Faf du plessis joins the club of other 7 players, thereby becoming the 8th player who has played more than 100 matches without getting out for a duck. However, Faf is the 1st player to do it right from his debut.

Playing his 100th innings, Faf du plessis scored his 3rd century of the tri-series, 121 off 140 against Zimbabwe nearly guaranteeing his side a place in the finals.

Here is a list of all 8 players who didn’t get a duck for over 100 matches.

Faf du Plessis is on 100 matches without getting a duck from debut, it would be interesting to watch whether his run continues to break the wall Rahul Dravid’s record.

Faf du Plessis in his short career of only 100 innings has established his place in the South African as a talented middle order batsman. He has proved that he can play both ways, as and when the situation demands. In the IPL, he plays for Chennai Super Kings and there also he has been consistent and performing well. Fans and the cricket experts see him as the next big thing in world cricket, however it is too early to say. It is not completely wrong if I say that Faf du Plessis is the best replacement for Jacques Kallis, who over the years has been South Africa’s backbone. It is long way to go for Faf, the beginning has been a cheerful ride and I hope he continues to lift his game.
