Fans Questioned Why Anushka Sharma was present at the felicitation ceremony: Virat Kohli became only the 12th Indian player and the 71st overall to earn 100 Test caps on Friday. His special cap was presented to him by head coach and legendary Indian batter Rahul Dravid on the morning of the Mohali Test against Sri Lanka.
“It’s well deserved, well earned, and hopefully it is just the start of many things to come. As we say in the dressing room, double it up,” Dravid praised the 33-year-old former Indian captain for his historic achievement.
Before the start of play on Day 1, Dravid presented Kohli with a special memento in the brief ceremony with the team members lined behind them and Virat Kohli standing with his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Kohli hugged Anushka before asking him to take the memento cap with her as he gets ready to bat.
Anushka’s presence with her husband on his memorable day, however, hasn’t been appreciated by a group of netizens. A section of fans have raised questions over whether there was the need for Anushka Sharma to be with Kohli in the cap presentation ceremony; some even wondered whether Anushka Sharma is part of Team India’s bio-bubble.
On the other hand, many fans have defended Anushka Sharma, saying that she has been the support system for Kohli for a long time and deserved to share this big moment together.

Virat Kohli acknowledged this occasion, thanking his wife, family, teammates who have been part of his journey so far. He also had a message for the youngsters: that they can put Test cricket as a priority while also playing the other two formats.
“It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to the BCCI as well. In present day cricket, with the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format,” Kohli said.
On his innings, Kohli was on his way to another half-century however, fell 5 runs short of it as he was bamboozled by a beautiful delivery from Lasith Embuldeniya.
