After missing a few games for Mumbai Indians because of a hamstring injury, Rohit Sharma was back captaining his side for their final league game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. He was named in the playing XI and thus, was seen at the toss. Fans were thrilled to see Rohit back in the Mumbai Indians colors.
Well, there has been a lot of confusion around Rohit Sharma’s fitness and the seriousness of his injury. However, his comeback in MI colors has put the fitness question to rest and the onus has now shifted to the selectors, who missed out on him for the upcoming tour of Australia, that will begin after IPL.
During the toss, Rohit Sharma was asked if everything is fit and fine, to which he said:
“Throughout the tournament there has been a lot of talk about the toss, and we need to take toss out of contention and play good cricket. Looks like I’m fit and fine. We are resting some key bowlers – Bumrah and Boult will rest, Pattinson and Dhawal Kulkarni will replace them. I am coming in place of Jayant Yadav.”
Talking about his performance, Rohit Sharma failed to give the best of his abilities as he was dismissed by Sandeep Singh after scoring 4 runs off 7 balls.
