Fans Are Trolling Mayank Agarwal For Throwing Away A Good Start

Another day, another player is getting trolled for throwing away his wicket after making a good start. On Day 2 of the ongoing fourth Test match, fans blasted Rohit Sharma for throwing away his wicket after making a good start, and on Day 3, Mayank Agarwal has come under the scanner of fans for the same reason.

Mayank came in to bat after the departure of Cheteshwar Pujara and he recreated what he did in his maiden outing at the MCG in 2018. However, just when fans thoughts that he is back in his form, a poor shot selection cost him his wicket.

Mayank kickstarted the game with a brilliant note and even tackled a crucial spell by Mitchell Starc. He looked confident while playing his strokeplay against Nathan Lyon, he even smashed a stunning 102-meter six off Lyon.

However, soon after lunch, Mayank was trapped in Josh Hazlewood’s trick. Hazlewood bowled a good length delivery to Mayank, who showed no patience and threw his hands loosely at the ball. As a result, the ball hit the edge of his bat and moved towards the second slip, where Steve Smith was standing. Steve grabbed the difficult chance in his second attempt.

Meanwhile, fans on social media, who were all praises for the brilliant knock of Mayank, were not at all happy with the shot that eventually cost him his wicket. His poor shot selection against Hazlewood took everyone by surprise.

Fans on social media are now slamming Mayank left, right and center for throwing away his wicket. There were many who expressed their thoughts that if Agarwal has imperiled the chances of team India retaining the ongoing Border-Gavaskar trophy with his wicket.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

Rohit doesn’t regret the shot he played. Rahane too played a loose shot. And now Mayank! And the likes of you would hesitate to come down heavily on them… why would even defend them by calling it that’s the way they play!

#India batsmen just can’t resist playing poor shots…#MayankAgarwal gifts his crucial wicket. India 5 down and staring at conceding a huge lead to Aussies. #INDvAUS #AUSvIND

When opportunity knocks ur door, make sure you r ready to grab it with full effort
But many Indian batsmen dont want to learn it.This series was best chance for many including Mayank to shine in absence of heavy weights. But no,they only interested playing IPL#INDvsAUS #INDvAUS

Natural game and no regret etc.

Why should only one batsman have all the fun?! Rohit Sharma has company from both Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant. #AusvInd
