Fans are brutally trolling the Indian cricket team’s head coach Ravi Shastri over his statements on Prithvi Shaw. Ahead of the ongoing first day-night Test match against Australia, Ravi Shastri had showered praises on the young Indian opening cricketer Prithvi Shaw for his performances.
As the first day-night test match kickstarted at Adelaide, the Indian cricket team got off to the worst possible start as opener Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for a second a ball duck on Thursday. Ahead of the first test match, there was a lot of talk about the opening pair and the likes of Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were being considered for the role. However, Virat Kohli decided to go with Prithvi Shaw, who once again failed to give the best of his abilities.
In the meantime, an old interview of Ravi Shastri is going viral where he had heaped praises on Prithvi Shaw by comparing him with some of the legendary cricketers to have ever played the game. Shastri compared Shaw to Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Virender Sehwag and claimed that he saw glimpses of these cricketers in Prithvi Shaw. He had said:
“He (Shaw) is born to play cricket. He’s been playing since the age of eight in the maidans of Mumbai. You can see all that hardwork showing. He’s a spectator’s delight. There’s a bit of Sachin there, a bit of Viru in him and when he walks — there’s a bit of Lara as well,”
Meanwhile, the fans are trolling Ravi Shastri over his statement from the old interview after Prithvi Shaw failed to perform in the first innings of the ongoing First Test match against Australia. From hilarious memes to jokes, fans on Twitter are trolling the Indian head coach brutally.
