Fans Are Trolling Star Sports For Promoting ‘Ind vs NZ’ Series Amidst India’s Poor Run In WC

The BCCI, Indian cricket team, and Star Sports India were at the receiving end of criticism and trolling on Tuesday, after Star Sports India via their official Twitter account shared a promotional video of the upcoming bilateral series between India and New Zealand, which will kickstart from November 17.

Star Sports India’s promotional tweet for the Ind vs NZ series only talked about the epic rivalry between both the teams and said that now it is time to settle scores with the New Zealand team.

However, the promotional campaign didn’t go down well with the fans, who are already heartbroken after watching India’s poor run in the ongoing tournament. Angry fans started trolling Star Sports India and the BCCI for promoting the upcoming India-New Zealand series amidst the uncertainty over India’s qualification for the semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup.

There were many fans who highlighted how they are fed up with promotional campaigns pitting teams for revenge, giving examples of the ‘Mauka Mauka’ campaign. On the other hand, there were many who mocked Star Sports India’s idea of calling for revenge by Tweeting India would avenge the T20 world cup’s defeat by winning PayTM trophies.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is currently sitting at the fifth position in the points table of Group 2 in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021, having lost both the games they have played so far. The chances of team India making it to the semi-final is very less, however, there is still some hope left.

The Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli will be locking their horns with Afghanistan tonight in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
