Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli made a horrible start to phase 2 of IPL 2021. The stylish batsman got out cheaply against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as his fans were once again left disappointed.
Ahead of the game, Virat Kohli shocked everyone by announcing his decision to step down from RCB captaincy after IPL 2021. This was one of the reasons why his fans were looking forward to a great knock by the captain, however, he couldn’t live up to the expectations of his fans.
As the game kickstarted, Virat Kohli elected to bat first, however, his decision backfired badly. Virat walked out to open the innings for his side along with his batting partner Devdutt Padikkal. Though he started cautiously and even managed to smash a stunning boundary through his trademark cover drive.
The wicket happened in the second over of the innings when Prasidh Krishna Kohli failed to read the ball and the ball eventually smashed the pads. The on-field umpire was quick to adjudge the veteran batsman out. However, Kohli decided to go for the DRS but the review went in favor of KKR and this way, Kohli had to take a long way back. Virat went back to the pavilion after scoring only 5 runs off 4 balls.
