Fans Can’t Keep Calm After Ravindra Jadeja’s Pushpa Celebrations

Known for his famous ‘Sword’ celebration with the bat after he reaches a fifty or a century, Ravindra Jadeja this time added another celebration to his arsenal during the first T20I of the 3-match series against Sri Lanka in Lucknow.

After dismissing Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Chandimal, Jadeja performed the famous ‘Pushpa’ celebration, by brushing his ground facing hand on the bottom of his beard along the left side of his neck.

This ‘Pushpa’ gesture has become viral on the internet as a tribute to Telugu superstar actor Allu Arjun from his recent movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.

Chandimal had hit Jadeja for a six in the spinner’s first over. However, the cunning Jadeja had his revenge soon. In his next over, Jadeja deceived Chandimal when the batting danced down the track to him. The ball turned big leaving Chandimal with nothing but air to swipe at and he was left stranded outside his crease as wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan completed the stumping.

Upon having his revenge on the senior Lankan batter, Ravindra Jadeja celebrated it in style with the Pushpa move.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan blasted 89 runs off 56 balls with the help of 10 fours and 3 sixes before Shreyas Iyer hammered 57 runs off 28 balls in a knock where he thumped 5 fours and 2 maximums. Skipper Rohit Sharma played the second fiddle to Kishan scoring 44 runs off 32 balls as India put up a mammoth total of 199/2.

Sri Lanka couldn’t get anywhere close to it. Their chase was derailed on the first ball when Pathum Nissanka was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Charith Asalanka scored a fifty, but he didn’t get any proper support from the other end as the visitors kept losing wickets.

The second T20I of the series will be played in Dharamsala on Saturday.
