Mumbai Indians posted a decent total of 179/9 in the first innings of the ongoing IPL 2024 match against the Rajasthan Royals on Monday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted a bat first in the contest. Trent Boult gave a great start to RR by dismissing Rohit Sharma (6) in the very first over. Sandeep Sharma also joined the party and picked quick wickets of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav to reduce MI to 20-3.

Mohammad Nabi (23) hit a couple of boundaries and brought the much-needed momentum to the game but he was soon dismissed in the 8th over without converting his start.
Nehal Wadhera then joined hands with Tilak Varma at 52/4 when MI was in a spot of bother. The youngsters formed a formidable partnership of 99 runs to put the MI on course for a good total.
However, MI’s finishers failed to utilize the platform, as the visiting team could only reach 179 after looking good for a few more runs. While Nehal smashed a quick knock of 49 runs off just 24 runs, on the other hand, Tilak Varma smashed a brilliant 65 runs off 45 balls.
