Cameron Green played exceptionally well for Australia against New Zealand on the first day of the opening Test match at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. Batting at No.4, he scored an impressive 103 runs from 155 balls, hitting 16 boundaries along the way.

Cameron Green Smashed A Powerful Century Against New Zealand

As wickets fell on the other end, the 24-year-old Cameron Green continued to score runs steadily, ensuring the scoreboard kept ticking for the visitors. He also formed a valuable 67-run partnership with Mitchell Marsh for the fifth wicket, which helped Australia recover from a shaky position at 89/4.

In previous matches, Green scored 14, eight, and 42 runs after taking over Steve Smith’s spot at No.4 in the two-match Test series against the West Indies.

Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with amazing reactions from the fans, hailing Cameron Green for his century just before the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The all-rounder, who was traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 17.5 crore before the IPL 2024 auction, showcased his batting prowess, earning admiration from cricket enthusiasts.

Cameron Green’s remarkable century helped Australia achieve a respectable total against New Zealand on the first day of the opening Test match. By the end of the day’s play, Australia had reached 279/9 after 85 overs, with Green and Josh Hazlewood still batting at the crease.

In addition to Green’s century, contributions from Mitchell Marsh (40 runs off 39 balls), Steve Smith (33 runs off 118 balls), and Usman Khawaja (31 runs off 71 balls) bolstered Australia’s innings. However, New Zealand’s Matt Henry stood out with the ball, taking four wickets, while William O’Rourke and Scott Kuggeleijn claimed two wickets each.
