Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian opener, has been in outstanding batting form throughout the ongoing Test series against England. His remarkable consistency was once again highlighted as he secured his second double-century in just the first three matches of the series, reaffirming his prowess in international cricket.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Smashed A Powerful Double Century Against England

As the Indian team commenced their second innings, they found themselves at a solid position of 196/2, with Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav at the batting crease. The duo managed to build a partnership worth 55 runs for the fifth wicket, contributing to India’s total. However, the partnership was broken when Shubman Gill, who was inching towards his second century of the series, was dismissed.
Unfortunately, he fell short by just nine runs from achieving this milestone. This turn of events showcased both the resilience of the Indian batting lineup and the talent possessed by Gill, despite narrowly missing out on his century.
Yashasvi Jaiswal entered the game after Shubman Gill’s run-out. He batted with great skill, scoring 104 runs off 133 balls. His innings included nine fours and five sixes. Unfortunately, he had to retire hurt yesterday because of back spasms but continued his impressive batting performance on the fourth day of the match.
The 22-year-old batsman reached his 150 runs off 192 balls right after the lunch break. He’s been consistent in converting his centuries into scores of 150 or more runs, including his first century against the West Indies last year on his debut.
After hitting the milestone, he showed more aggression. He hit veteran English pacer Jamerson for three consecutive sixes. He broke the record for the most sixes in a Test innings for India and also set the record for the most sixes in a Test series for India.
In the 97th over of India’s second innings, the Mumbai cricketer scored his second double-century in Test cricket. He reached this milestone by pushing Joe Root’s delivery to the covers. Right after achieving this impressive feat, he hit two sixes.
