Rishabh Pant Dropped A Catch: The Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns against the England cricket team in the highly-anticipated first Test match of the ongoing four Test match series. The much-awaited game kickstarted in Chennai with the England skipper Joe Root winning the toss and electing to bat first. Team India opened their bowling attack with Ishant Sharma, who made his comeback with this match, while Rory Burns and Dominic Sibley are the opening batsmen for the visiting nation.
Indian pace sensation bowled the second over of the day, weaving magic with his magical spell from the first delivery itself as he almost picked the wicket of England opener.
However, team India lost an early opportunity to get rid of Rory Burns after Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant dropped him on the very first ball of Jasprit Bumrah.
The incident took place as early as the seventh ball of the game wen England openers had just scored one run on the scoreboard. Jasprit started the day with a length delivery and Burns couldn’t read the ball properly. And as a result, the ball touched the bat and went right towards the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
Rishabh Pant dived to his right to complete the catch however, the ball came really low and hit his fingertips. Though it was a difficult catch but Rishabh Pant eventually gave a lifeline to Rory Burns as India missed an opportunity to get an early breakthrough.
