Fans React After Shahrukh Khan Scored Quickfire 194 For Tamil Nadu In Ranji Trophy

Shahrukh Khan was in full mood of taking a toll on the bowlers when he smashed 194 runs off 148 deliveries in Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy 2022 opener against Delhi at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

Tamil Nadu skipper Vijay Shankar won the toss and elected to bowl first. Delhi put up a big total of 452 runs, courtesy of centuries from debutant Yash Dhull and Lalit Yadav. In reply Tamil Nadu got a good start, however, after the 53-run opening stand between Kaushik Gandhi and Laxmesha Suryaprakash, the side then started losing wickets and went down to 162/5 at one stage.

Baba Indrajith scored a fluent century and got out at the score of 296/6. At that point, Delhi must have thought of bowling Tamil Nadu out for under 400 and gain a crucial first-innings lead. However, Shahrukh Khan, batting at number 7, had other plans, spoiling those of Delhi.

Shahrukh Khan teed off right from the start of his innings. He didn’t stop until he had taken Tamil Nadu in the lead in the first innings. Shahrukh hammered all the Delhi bowlers to all corners of the Barsapara Stadium.

However, he fell 6 runs short of what would have been a thunderous double hundred; the right-hander finished with 194 runs off 148 balls. His superb knock was laced by 20 hard-hitten fours and 10 towering sixes.

Khan’s fiery assault on the Delhi bowlers in the latter half of Tamil Nadu’s innings ensured his side finished with a vital 42-run lead at the end of Day 3 in Guwahati.

Shahrukh Khan, who won Tamil Nadu the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with a last-ball six in the final, was recently re-bought by Punjab Kings in the mega-auction for a whopping 9 crore.

While his talent and brute strength has been revered in the circuit for the past couple of years, this innings, this slaughter-fest in the red-ball cricket, is a further indication of his growing abilities. And of things to come in the IPL.

A phenomenal display of class and power hitting.
Congrats @IndrajithBaba & @shahrukh_35 for your hundreds.

End of a tremendous knock from Shahrukh Khan – 194 in just 148 balls with 20 fours and 10 sixes. Missed out on what could’ve the 2nd fastest double century after Ravi Shastri in First Class cricket as an Indian. pic.twitter.com/gbwnZRXaLj

Maiden First Class century for Shahrukh Khan. He is having a great time in his career. That partnership with Indrajith totally brought back Tamil Nadu into this game. If they can take a first innings lead thn it will be totally bcs of these two guys. #RanjiTrophy pic.twitter.com/tvMXmUu8nb
