The Indian cricket team continued with their red-hot form as they thrashed Scotland side in the T20 World Cup 2021 fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With this stunning win, team India also got a major boost in the net run rate (NRR).
As the game kickstarted, the Indian skipper won the toss on his birthday and opted to field first. The Indian side hasn’t done fielding in the ongoing tournament before this major. The decision turned out to be in favor of the Indian side as the Indian bowlers put up a stellar show to bundle out the Scotland cricket team in just 17.4 overs for only 85 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami provided the team with the much-needed breakthroughs, pushing the Scotland batsmen to the backseat in the powerplay. The Indian bowlers gave a tough time to the Scotland batsmen as they didn’t let them find the momentum.
Both Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets each and didn’t let the batsmen score big runs. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah also picked 2 wickets, and with this, he became an all-time leading wicket-taker for India in T20 internationals.
Later, the Indian cricket team chased down the target of 86 runs in just 6.3 overs. The Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a stunning start to the team and took the match by storm. KL Rahul came out to bat with all-guns-blazing as he scored his half-century off just 18 balls. His knock was laced with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma scored 30 runs off 16 balls, smashing 5 boundaries and 1 six.
However, soon KL Rahul scored his fifty, he was dismissed and Virat Kohli walked out to bat with Rohit Sharma. Suryakumar Yadav smashed the stunning six to finish the game for India in just 6.3 overs.
Meanwhile, fans on social media were thrilled after watching the stunning show of the Indian cricket team. From several cricketers, fans, and experts, everyone took to Twitter and came up with amazing reactions to the performance of Indian cricketers. India needed to chase the target down in 7.1 overs to take their NRR above that of Afghanistan and New Zealand. They have done that in 6.3 overs. Everything for the Indian fans depends on one match now!#INDvSCO | #T20WorldCup

#TeamIndia Looks like a completely different side when the most feared opening pair deliver performances like these. Just hoping for #AFG to beat #NZ ?#INDvSCO #T20WorldCup

If New Zealand beat Afghanistan they are through
If Afghanistan beat New Zealand and India beat Namibia then all 3 teams will finish on 6 points and NRR will decide who joins Pakistan in the semi-finals #T20WorldCup pic.twitter.com/cVzNccex3Y

India chase down 86 in only 39 balls. Kohli faced no balls in their last win. On his birthday he got to play 2. Rahul (50 in 19) and Rohit show off some insane hitting skills. India’s Net Run Rate now just fine.
Over to Afghanistan to beat New Zealand. #INDvSCO #T20WorldCup— Anand Vasu (@anandvasu) November 5, 2021
