A lot has changed in the Indian batting set-up, with Virat Kohli stepping down from the captaincy of all-formats to Rohit Sharma taking charge of the Indian white-ball set-up. Since Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the upcoming series because of an injury issue, KL Rahul will be seen leading the Indian cricket team as the stand-by skipper in his absence. KL Rahul was initially named the vice-captain of the Indian team.

For the unversed, KL Rahul will only be the second Indian captain under whom Virat Kohli will play an international match after MS Dhoni since 2012.
