"Shameful Defeat For India," Fans Troll Team India After A Series Defeat Against Sri Lanka In 27 Years

Sri Lanka vs India: It is elation time for Sri Lankans as they have beaten India for the first time in a bilateral series since 1997. They were sensational with the ball in this series and also did get the runs on the board in all the three matches. Indian batters failed miserably against the crafty Sri Lankan spinners in the run-chase in all the three matches. The first match ended in a tie as India could not score 1 run in 14 balls. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka registered a dominant win by 32 runs in the second ODI.

The third ODI ended in a more dominant victory for Sri Lanka. They beat India by 110 runs in the final ODI and took the series 2-0. They won the toss and elected to bat first. Sri Lanka posted a total of 248 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Avishka Fernando was the top scorer with 96 runs. Pathum Nissanka scored 45 runs, Kusal Mendis scored 59 runs, while Kamindu Mendis added 20 runs. Riyan Parag who made his ODI debut picked up 3 wickets in this game. Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar picked up 1 wicket each.

Meanwhile, India could manage to score 138 runs and they were all out in 26.1 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 35 runs, Virat Kohli scored 20 runs, Riyan Parag scored 15 runs and Washington Sundar scored 30 runs. All the other batters were in single digits. For the Sri Lankans, Danish Wellalage picked up 5 wickets, Mahesh Theekshana picked up 2 wickets,  Aditya Fernando picked up 1 wicket, and Jeffrey Vandersay picked up 2 wickets.

Indian batters stumbled in every match against the spinners on a Turing track and raises big questions about their ability to play spin on those tracks. It is a welcome win for the Sri Lankans after they were whitewashed 3-0 in the T20I series vs India.
