In quite a bizarre, and hilarious, turn of events, an Indian RTI activist, namely Pandit Keshav, has lodged a case against Australian all-rounder Marsh in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, for hurting the sentiments of Indian fans by putting his feet on the World Cup trophy. Not only that, Keshav has also urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban Mitchell Marsh from playing in India in the future.
The Daily Culture reported on Friday that Pandit Keshav, an RTI activist, has taken a major step against Marsh by filing an FIR against the Australian all-rounder, “alleging that Marsh’s actions of dropping legs on the World Cup trophy had offended the sentiments of Indian cricket team fans”.
The report added: “He also forwarded a copy of the complaint to Prime Minister Modi, urging that Marsh should not be allowed to play cricket in India”
Mitchell Marsh plays for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, the franchise won’t be happy with Keshav’s plea.
After Australia’s win in the World Cup 2023 final, a picture of Mitchell Marsh putting his feet on the World Cup trophy in the Aussie dressing room during Australia’s celebration at the Narendra Modi Stadium went viral.
While fans slammed Marsh for this act, saying that he is disrespecting the coveted World Cup trophy, Pandit Keshav took it a step further filing an FIR against the Aussie star.
Fans came up with hilarious tweets upon learning that an FIR has been filed against Mitchell Marsh:

Senior India pacer Mohammed Shami, too, condemned this act from Mitchell Marsh. Shami said he was upset and didn’t like this action from Marsh.
“I feel upset. Placing a foot on the trophy, the one every team competes for, the trophy you dream of raising, that didn’t make me happy,” Mohammed Shami said in an interview with PUMA recently.
After winning the World Cup, Mitchell Marsh said in Ahmedabad: “Pure elation right now. Been the hardest 8 weeks of cricket I was a part of. To be here with this group, it feels unbelievable.”
